March was significantly busier than normal. There were 130 new grant
makers set up, with 80 making it into this edition - the rest were left out
because of their interest in a single cause (a local church, hospital,
school and such). A third of those included were picked up through
prospect research.
As always, the majority of funders focus on Relief, Education and Health, with around a quarter being set up as generalists. There were 11 new funders interested in medical causes, along with others with a focus on conservation, paper making, young people and the promotion of our own voluntary sector.
A number of very wealthy trusts are included in this edition.
