November 2016 again saw a significant increase year on year for both the number of new charities and new grant makers.
118 new grant makers were established, with 57% (67) being included in this Trust List; the rest were left out because of their interest in a single cause (a local church, hospital, school and such) or were specifically interested in something that would exclude you as professional fundraisers.
Of the 67 included here, 27 were highlighted as we found additional information (both financial and non-financial) that would be of use to you in deciding an approach.
As always, the majority of funders focus on Relief, Education and Health, with a third being Generalists. The remaining funders have quite disparate interests, including animal welfare, several medical charities and support for refugees and sustainable development.
Whilst there are no royals this month, there are three separate celebrity connections with stars of the stage and screen. A fourth foundation was established by one of Norway’s leading industrialists, the family is thought to be worth £1,280,000,000.
