June 2015, which was a bumper month by any standards, being only the second time in over a year where we have seen over 100 new grant makers register. 66 were included in the Trust List.
Over and above Relief, Education and Health, specific areas of interest include animal welfare and conservation, specific medical conditions, mathematics in Africa, the promotion of fencing, and of course research into apathy and empathy.
26 new grant makers were picked up through prospect research, representing 40% of the overall number listed. New grant makers include a family worth in excess of £147m, individuals with personal fortunes of millions and a couple of sportsmen.
