In June (2013) 69 trusts were set up specifically to provide grants to other organisations. Of the 69 listed, 17 (25%) were picked up through prospect research as being of specific interest. At least half have millionaire founders / trustees and four are worth in excess of £100m.
As usual, we saw an eclectic mix of funders set up this month, with a particular emphasis on conservation, relief, health and education made up the lion share of other interests (along with the ubiquitous 'general charitable purposes') with yoga and the promotion of historical interiors also featuring.
