Trust List March 21
This edition sees the fewest charities register since December 2012. The rolling average of new grant makers included in our monthly Trust List over the past 12 months is 99 new trusts. This edition sees just 57. This is a worrying trend, but March and April are traditionally the slowest months of the year. We'll keep a careful eye on developments.
As always, along with the classic 'relief, education and health', we see several trusts interested in a multitude of other areas, but many focus on community support and relief, along with a medical charity looking into the effects of long-covid.
Notable individuals in this edition include Earl Bathouse, worth around £35m, the Arora family, estimated to be worth over £1 billion, the supermarket investor, the late Albert Gubay (worth over £500m) and one of the founders of Naked Wines (worth £10m).
