Geographical Location of new Grant Makers
Perhaps surprisingly, the geographical distribution of the new grant makers listed in Top Trusts 2019 is not confined to the South East, there are new trusts based in Edinburgh and Barnstaple in North Devon.
Indeed, fewer than 50% (49) of the 100 listed are based in Greater London. There is a clear hub around Lancashire, but also several trusts stretching from Bristol in the South West, through the Home Counties and the Midlands all the way through to East Anglia.
Perhaps the single biggest surprise is that there are more new grant makers registered on the Charity Commission for England and Wales in Scotland than there are in Wales.
There is just one additional trust not featured in this map, the only one outside the UK mainland, being based in Jersey.
