May was fairly typical, in terms of new grant makers, with precisely the 12 month rolling average on new grant makers included in this month's publication. As always, along with the classic 'relief, education and health', we see several trusts interested in Christian causes, human rights, and even the promotion of Scouts in Kenya. Once again, there are also a significant number citing good citizenship (via Lions Clubs), a range of medical causes (particularly cancer).
There are several very wealthy families connected to new grant makers, including one family worth £300m, and another family worth $1.6bn.
