March was slightly down in terms of the 12 month rolling average, but still fairly typical.
As always, along with the classic 'relief, education and health', we see several trusts interested in the Armed Forces, animal welfare, good citizenship (via Lions Clubs), a range of medical causes (particularly neurology), and even the promotion of software engineering in Yorkshire.
Wealthy new grant makers include a family worth £135m, another worth £600m, and a fabulously wealthy family worth $1.33bn. As always, the wealthiest grant makers tend to be generalists, so there should be something for everyone in this month's list.
